Some Quiet Moments

...for me of late.

this contemplation of a new year,
which also feels in a way like just another run of days,
but i feel.. i sense this shifting -
something...
i can't quite place it.
soon it will reveal itself.

i traded coffee for tea,
perhaps this is it.

days seem longer,
slower;
pacing themselves.

i tiptoe about,
wanting to enjoy the quiet when i find it.

i've got into the old linen these past new january days,
and am enjoying creating coptic stitched books,
 amongst other bibliographica creatures,
in the making.

we all lost our beloved Bowie.
 what a soul, what stardust,
a true majikal being who influenced so many of us,
famous or infamous.

the beauty of it.

the intellect

  1. He was a part of my childhood, too, and young adulthood. Made a huge musical impression on me.

Beautiful work, and love your words--like reading poetry.

  2. His music was a part of my childhood world long before I understood that music was, in great part, a "business". In those days when radio was the only medium and was truly an inherent score to my days, his words echoed and inspired. It is, simply put, impossible for me to comprehend the world, this world, without him in it. Or to separate my own, younger self's self-discovery from his influence.

The idea of "new year" is more daunting with each passing one and I simply resolve to not think of it as a period or a page. Just the continual flow of things from before the beginning until the unknowable end. It all blends. Melds. In flux and ever moving. . .

And yes, as always, such beautiful work!

Perhaps that which is coming is that which we have been invoking since before we even knew we could create. . . ???
