The creation of this journal Immersion
took much longer than other books I have made.

I toyed with this process over a year ago
in a journal called Aqua Tales,
which some of you may recall.

Each piece of paper I have individually treated to
evoke the idea of being immersed in water.

The notion to 'dip your toe in' - test yourself,
take that little step to where you want to be in life.
I love this idea and wanted to capture it with this book.

I dipped my toe into my most precious
textiles and fabrics
to create the patchwork covers
which give it this unique character.

  1. So totally gorgeous, Louise, it does not surprise me in the least that it sold immediately! Someone is going to love it.

    1. Thank you so much Dawn. I love it when someone pounces on a book they are drawn to. Note special fabrics <3

  2. Wow, your work is so lovely. Both the pieces in this post and the last one. The touch of indigo and your attention to detail are swoon worthy. x

    1. Judy, thank you that's so lovely to hear coming from you. :) I am enjoying the creative flow at the moment.x

  3. It is exquisite, Louise. All of your lovely work shows.

    1. Thank you Susan, you are so kind :) x

  4. I immediately saw this book as an atlas for someone's life. The pages filled with text of course but also lines of longitude and latitude, compass points, wood roses and little creatures emerging from the bottom blue. . . coordinates, roads and towns along the way too. The entire book becoming a life sketch or dream of places and adventures to come. : ) Yes, no surprise it was immediately claimed. . . Such a striking journal Louise!!

    1. Loved reading your words Nicolas. You have such a rich tapestry of imagination and describing words. Of course this shows in your own creations. Thank you for stopping by! I am enjoying this bout of blue. :)

I love to read your comments & thoughts!
